We just wrapped up our first day in Calgary and boy was it fun! Maureen & Thomas Kehler hosted a yummy lunch at their house for the team, then it was off to the Temle B’nai Tikvah for a recording session and an evening performance with the Cantare Children’s Choir. The choir recorded for a few hours and sounded terrific! Then they enjoyed the biggest (and most delicious) pot-luck I’ve ever experienced, made by the parents of the Cantare choir. The students from both choirs interacted with each other during dinner and seemed to have some great discussions. It was so encouraging for the MCF choir to meet other children who love also love music, yet sing quite different songs. Cantare sang some traditional choral songs and then a couple off-the-wall and interesting numbers – it was terrific!
A huge thank you to Maureen Kehler, our local board member and organizer of all the Calgary events, and also a huge thanks to Catherine and Maggie from Cantare for helping organize the event.
